Frequently asked questions.

Answers to some of the most common questions from our customers.

How do I Choose the Right Painter?

When you are searching for a painter, you cannot really search the internet to know what your paint job should include or what it should cost. There is not a Kelly Blue Book for house painting. One thing that you can do is weigh your options and look for an individual that provides the best value.

β€œDon’t automatically accept the lowest bid. A higher bid may be worth the price in better materials and workmanship. If you get a very low bid, the contractor may have made a mistake or not bid everything. If the bid is too low to make a profit, they may use cheaper materials or take shortcuts.”

Do Painting Jobs Have Set Prices?

Some contractors will have a set price on their work. At House Doctors Painting & Restoration, we custom build your estimate to fit your project. There is no set price for interior and exterior projects.

How Do Your Prices Compare to Other Contractors?

We strive to offer competitive pricing, while still using top of the line paint and materials, and quality workmanship. If you were to get ten bids, and then ranked 1 being the lowest bid and 10 being the highest bid in pricing, House Doctors Painting & Restoration will fall between a 5-6 depending on the location.

How Does Your Guarantee Work?

All our work comes with a one-year guarantee against workmanship defects. If you see any peeling, cracking, or bubbling on your paint job within the first year please contact us.

Why Not Paint the House Myself?

We use the top-of-the-line paint and materials. The retail cost for the homeowner could be anywhere from $1200-$1400 for the standard 3-bedroom, 2-bath house. The cost of painting a house can be more than that depending on the size of your home. If you will need to purchase ladders, proper equipment, and other supplies it could cost an additional $600-$700. Additionally, we typically spend 60 plus hours on the job, and assuming you can paint as efficiently as we can, that means you will have to set aside at least four weekends to complete the job. Many people feel that this time could be spent with their family, vacation, or other summer events.
